Delicious Iced Mocha

2 cups water
2/3 cup cashews or almonds
2 Tbsp carob powder
4 Tbsp coffee substitute (Pero, Cafix, Roma, etc.)
3/4 cup chopped dates
2 Tbsp. ground flax seeds (optional)
Ice (approximately equivalent to the amount of water)

Blend everything but ice thoroughly in blender.

Add enough ice to make a thin milkshake consistency, and blend about 10-15 seconds more.

Use more or less ice to make it as thick as you like it.

A wonderful variation is to substitute 1/2 cup peanut butter in place of the cashews.

Both the original and variation are delicious!

The optional flax seeds make a very creamy texture, as well as adding healthy Omega 3 fatty acids!
